Interesting.  There are at least a few people around that prefer 
originality over roadability and handling.  Its up to you I guess.  Its 
surprising to me that you can even get these tires.

Even more interesting!  Odometers of the period were more accurate than 
speedometers and usually within 1 or 2%.  Some were "perfectly" accurate, 
and it appears yours is one of them!

Certainly, but when we say at 70 mph constant cruising I get .... MPG, we 
are trying to get the "driver variable" out.  It may not be completely out, 
but it is to some degree...
