rust starting to show through 78 NYB



"Bondo" is not the problem.  Not killing the rust
BEFORE filler was applied is the problem.  Clearly the
best solution is to cut out all rusty metal and
replace with new sheetmetal and metalfinish without
filler but FEW people have the skills to do it. 
Plastic fillers are not bad in themselves. However
many inexpensive repairs are just filler over sanded
off metal and the rust works its way back.  It has to
be neutralized and then protected from further rusting
before filler and paint can be applied.  Otherwise it
WILL come back.
