In mid year of 1953 the powerflite was introduced question is did Chrysler also change the extended bell housing cast with the block.  I'm wondering if you could exchange a fluid torque drive tranny for a powerflite that was produced in the same year.  It would seem costly for Chrysler to introduce the powerflite and a new block setup without the extended bell casting all in one year not to mention the assembly line learning curves.  Can someone answer what happened in mid year of 1953 with this change and if the cast extended bell housing block was also deleted at the same time.
