Subject: IML: veggie oil in hydraulic systems

Lowell Howe got hassled by the environment people about a
hydraulic car lift (the kind that looks like a T and goes
into the ground) that he had put in on his property.

He used vegetable oil and they left him alone.  He said
that he wiped his finger on the shaft and licked it in
front of them out of spite to prove a point.

If veggie oil will lift an Imperial where hydraulic fluid
once did, it might go well elsewhere, but I don't have
anything to contribute about its lubriaction properties or
affect on seals, etc.
