Hi all
I drive my 55 Imperial all the time ( at least every other day) and it
has the 6 volt system. I had problems with it until I read the shop manual
and did the work myself. I set the timing with a light (hooked up to the
battery in my 64) and ever since then I have had no problems. It does get
warm in southern CA, and there is alot of stop and go driving, and for a year
I have had no problems. Bear in mind a 6 volt battery usually won't last as
long as a 12 volt, and you must check the water frequently.
