Quoting Neil Thorpe. =========================== What the hell is gasohol it sounds like a drunk gas pump attendant but I'm sure it isn't. Neil, London =========================== Well, Gasohol was a fuel that was brought out after the gas shortages of the '70s. I remember it being around in the early '80s. It was a mix of gasoline and alcohol made from corn. The idea was that it burns cleaner, was cheaper, AND it 's a renewable resource. (The US has a gazzillion square miles of cornfields.) Unfortunately, it's also part of the reason of the demise of the EFI Imperials. From what I have learned, the '80s EFI system relies on an optical sensor (made of plastic) to meter fuel. Alcohol loves to eat certain kinds of plastic. Boom. Destroyed sensors, gaskets etc. So, if the original owner did not use gasohol (or high methanol content) fuel, the EFI systems were a bit more reliable, and you probably own one of those cars.
