1967 Imperial Brake Upgrade, Can I use early 70s chrysler brakes?

One thing is you would lose the 5" bolt pattern of the Imperials. Other C body chryslers used 4 1/2" pattern. Using Imperial discs on C body spindles don't work either as Imps have larger bearings.
Once rebuilt, 67's have great brakes. They are not cheap to completely rebuild. I have had mine on since last rebuild 4 years now without a problem. My Imp usually sits unused for up to a month outside(horrible for brake calipers) and I still have not had problems with them. Of course I check the condition of my pads regularly(every oil change, 3 months).
just my two cents.

Hi Guys

I sent this before, but I think it came back to me, my apologies if you get it twice J

I have heard that only early 70's imperial spindles, and brakes will swap onto a 67 Imperial. Is there any reason that I can't use the ones from a 73 Newport? If there is a reason, can it be worked around?  I read all the stuff in the brake conversions section on the imperialclub page, but there was no answer to my question. If it won't work, I would love to know why it won't

Thanks

Tristan
