82 shorts-hissing

Rob and interested observers,

I do hope you are right, i have not noticed this before though i have
probably
not had my head near the dash when it is illuminated.

I will look into this on my car as i have some burnt wiring; which was as
far
as i have found isolated to the wire from the drivers visor to where it goes
into
the loom tape above the central map lights in the headlining and no further.
(I hope).

The hissing is faint and localised to the digi dash area, so please go forth
and listen
to your dashes.

On a side note my other car was in for repair recently, the loan car had a
habit of beeping for various things like handbrake on, seatbelt not on, low
fuel etc, hissing is probably a very minor thing compared to an abrupt
annoying beep which had i owned
the car would have been deactivated on day 1. (sorry Jeff it is related to
the story just:o)
