66 engine cutting out at highway speeds

Unlikely, but onsider this. In one of my 68's, I used to have a tiny hole in a
heater hose, and it was spraying water directly on the distributor, causing the
engine to lose power. The amount of water was so small, that it evaporated
quickly, and it was easy to not see it. When idling, you could not see the
water spray, because the water pump pressure was too low. Its unlikely that
this is your problem, but its easy to check. Ask someone to rev the car, and
look under the hood.
