Studebaker offered 4 headlights as an option on the cheaper 58 models, they were standard on all upper line cars, including all Packards (except Hawks). Some models of Cadillac came ONLY with 4 headlights only in 57 (the Fleetwood Brougham). Chrysler, Imperial, DeSoto, Lincoln, Mercury and Nash offered 4 headlights on some or all models where legal, starting in 1957. The bottom line is: where the front end sheet metal could accommodate it without too much trouble, they offered 4 headlights, as the trend was obvious by this time. Those cars which could not make it look right (mostly GM and Ford products) didn't even try. However, that didn't stop the aftermarket folks from offering some really horrible looking "conversion kits" which looked almost as bad as some factory efforts in 1958 (Studebaker/Packard comes to mind!).
