64 crown around town

My 64 crown is running better without the heat riser valve, {probably stuck} and as far as the exhaust leak will try and put a bolt in there,  Thats it for the major stuff now , but am pushing 165,000 and feel its time to take  a look at the tranny, harsh click and knock when I push the buttons.  Anybody know of a place I can replace the plastic molding that covers the door jams right in between the seats?  mine are cracking and falling apart-adamrush -64 crown

I have heard there is a product to either eliminate or reduce the hairline
cracks which are present in chrome bumpers of vintage automobiles. My '59 has
these in both the front and rear bumpers, and I would be very interested in
trying this as a temporary solution before re-chroming them. Any help I could
get out there would be appreciated.

Reply-To: mailing-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Well, I've been driving around with my digital dash
for a while now, here's the news on it....

-The unit will suddenly have all but the speedo and
voltmeter go dead- I have found that this is a lose
connection, on ei ther one of the +12volt or ground
lines.
-Unit is very dark at night- the 4 night lights in
this thing don't light up enough. I may see if I can
change the wiring to get all the pilot lamps working
(with dim control) at night, or I may just add one or
two more night lamps
-Trip feature and switching to metric speedo doesn't
work. Aparently this requires the external trip
computer which I do not yet have....

-Fuel gauge kinda works... one glitch (discovered
today)- will not show new fuel level after the car is
filled at a station. My guess is that this is a body
computer issue and would be resolved when I locate and
replace the BCU. If that does not solve the problem, I
will just build my own fuel level gauge using the old
analog cluster's electronic fuel level signal....

That's all for now.

Congratulations Jim,
How dim does it seem during the day? I've had several Mopars with the
digital dash. One is even an Imperial! If there was a drawback it was that I
never noticed the lights weren't on because the dash was so easy to read at
night. The only thing the lights did/do is to illuminate the switches. I'm
wondering if maybe your dimming isn't set up right.

Hi folks, I'm having a little electrical problem with my 69 and can't seem to locate the flasher for the hazard lights. I read in the archives where some are located far from where the FSM says they are supposed to be. Thanks for any help, Bob

Self-Introduction: Hi all! I'm new to car clubs, so I have no idea of how
things work. I'm acquiring my grandfather's Chrysler. It was in great
shape when he had it (30 years ago). It's not too bad but needs a little
TLC to get it running. I'm joining because I'd like to get to know others
who may have experienced what I'm about to go through. Knowlege is power!
Currently, I have none when it comes to this car. So I'm starting with a
clean slate. I look forward to showing off my imperial, along with you.
