I am sorry, I don't know the engine number for '59. I am sure that someone else will chime in here with it for you. Sometimes it is explained in old repair manuals. If you have a copy of the Motors Manual that includes '59 it may explain the engine numbers. If not, someone may explain how to determine, from the type of flange on the end of the crank, which engine will fit your car. I believe that the flange is the part that makes the difference, and it would be visible on any engine that was already out of a car.
