I don't know if this will help. But have you checked your cooling system? It's probably not running hot enough to over heat but may be hot enough to set off some pre-ignition. To make a long story short, my '70 LeBaron had a bad knock and I went through all the standard procedures. I got it down to just a tiny bit of pre-ignition and ran out of ideas. So, I knew my car ran a little hot (a 34 year old cooling system isn't up to par). I swapped out the 195 degree thermostat and put in a 180 degree and wah- lah ( I think I spelled that right) no more knock! .......Finally!.......
