6 Volt gas sending unit

I am looking for a sending unit for a 31, I know that they make a universial 
unit but does not the old chryslers ground the unit in a different way. Also, 
cant send in to rebuild there is nothing left!
So I am looking for a source or tell me the unversial will work somehow.
