Renewing my call to 90s owners

Do the panels now come apart in two pieces in those
cars? Top woodgrain first, may be velcrowed in place.
Then a couple screws under there holding the coloured
panel around the radio?

I've had it off my fathers Imperial a year ago, I
don't recal having problems getting it off.... But is
seemed to me if I remember correctly it came off in
two sections... upper panel (wood grain), lower
panel(coloured).
