Imperial appearence maintenence tips?

Hello all:

I have used a lot of chrome cleaners, and they require a lot of elbow grease to accomplish the shine that you are all looking for.  If you want a lot of shine...really fast....(little effort), try "barkeeper's friend."  You will find it in the local grocer store next to Comet, Ajax cleanser, and Bon Ami.  It will not scratch the chrome, and everyone will comment on how shiny your chrome it.  It also removes hard water stains from glass, metal, even paint if you don't have the best paint job and just want to clean it up.  Also removes oxidization rapidly.  In short, it will cost you under $3 to clean all of your chrome, and you will have it done likely in under one hour...entire car.  Seriously....you have to try this.  My husband happened on to this wonderful product, read the label...it cleans everything.

It's been a long time since I've had a nice car, and now that I have my
new '69 Crown I want to get it all spruced up. I'm sure in the last decade
and a half, lots of good proucts have come out that I'm unaware of, and I'd
like your advice.
What are the best sorts of waxes out there?
Once I've polished the rust spots off of my chrome (esp. bumpers), are
there any good products to protect the metal where the plating has worn off?

   Thanks a million,
        -Kle.
