As Rob mentioned, - the worst it should do is cause leaks. Of course leaks often lead to failure (if the fluid level is not maintained, - shoot, people don't even check their engine oil anymore...............) I would just make sure that the kickdown linkage is adjusted properly, and if so, then it's probably time for a rebuild. I do not know of any fluid (as in "improper" fluid) that would make a 727 "slip". Fords yes, - Mopars, no.
