The Flying Penguin is in the rookery

Hi, folks --

I got my '66 Coupe delivered via flatbed this weekend and took a good
second look at it. The first look was short, just long enough to say "I'll
take it!" Persian white with black leather and black vinyl top, hence
"Flying Penguin".

Good stuff --
Odometer reads 29,xxx, does not appear to have rolled over
Last registered in 1975
Has been in covered storage since then, no sun damage
Dash pad, wheel, headliner and visors are perfect
All interior trim present and intact except rear cigarette lighters
Leather is dry but not worn or torn
All wood present except one triangle on dash
4 matching wheel covers
Rear air and T&T
Perfect body except right front quarter panel needs replacing (damaged
pulling car out of chicken coop)

Challenging stuff --
No motor
Left vent window broken, as in may have been stolen (have replacement
window)
So dusty you can't tell the vinyl top is black
Needs full repaint and rechrome and new carpet (dry rot)

I'll put before photos on the OIC site in a few days and see if I can dig
up some provenance info. First sold on Van Ness Ave. in San Francisco,
according to the license plate frame. The 1972 registration IBM punch card
is in the glove box (which is also perfect), and there are some extremely
fragile 30-year-old credit card receipts in the compartment below the
driver's side arm rest . Did I mention I paid $600 for the car?

P.S. There were no chickens in the coop with the coupe. Whew!
