I don't think that engine was a TNT, it probably got a sticker at one point.

Rob, its hard to tell with certainty unless you have a good dyno testing.  But
the stock manifolds were fairly decent, and if the "HP" make any difference, it
probably will be at over 5,000 rpm.  Still, the Jensen Interceptors with the 440
six pack for example had the standard manifold (probably due to fit issues) and
did very fine at high rpm, their top speed being at 5500 rpm on 3rd at 145
mph.

Personally, I think the high rise exhaust manifolds were more of a gimic to sell
muscle cars, as the stock manifold still has the upward tilt.  They may also
help replacing spark plugs, which is a non-trivial advantage.

Somebody in the list had installed these manifolds in his 67 as I recall.  May
be he can give us a report.  But even then, the its hard to separate
phsychological effect from the real.  Only a dyno number of "before" and
"after" will tell for sure.
