Hi, everybody! I'm going to make a wager that I'm the youngest person on here, at 18 years old. I'm a college student at Iowa State, originally from SE Wisconsin. I haven't owned a car yet, and don't know too much about them, but I absolutely love classic cars - especially the 50's and 60's Mopars. My dreams car is a 1958 Plymouth Fury - one I'd love to restore the body on but modernize the mechanical aspects of. Any tips on this and basic info I'd need to get started would be greatly appreciated. A friend of mine recently restored a 1974 Chevy Nova, and it was absolutely beautiful when he finished it. I'm not just talking a simple junker fix-up - he did a ground up rebuild, and it was perfect! I'm trying to talk him in to moving back up to WI for a summer, to help me rebuild when I can locate one, because he moved down to Texas a few years back. Anyway, any help I can get in locating a '58 Fury with a decent body would be greatly appreciated. I'm not too worried about the mechanical parts, I just want a decent body to work with. I'll be dropping in a new motor, tranny, all that, as well as possibly throwing a spark-plug flamer on the exhaust (is this legal?). Also, tips on that kind of restoration would be appreciated. I already recieved an answer to my post asking if it was because of the movie "Christine" - close, but no cigar. I know the car in the movie was actually a Belvedere - I'm a huge Stephen King fan and preferred the book to the movie. When I finish the restoration, I plan to get a vanity plate saying "CHRSTNE" if I can. Well, thanks in advance to everybody who can offer assistance in my little dream. Talk to everybody later!
