I recently heard the same thing concerning 1959 Plymouths...that all were
hardtops,  and  convertibles were made by cutting their  tops off.   I find
this extremely hard to believe- because  convertible rear wheel housings are
completely different than the hardtops, and to cut out and make up the
metal difference would just  be too much work...
