Re: [FWDLK] 1958 Plymouth Fuel Tank Vent Tube

John and Jim.
Your vent tubes are metal (originally). My guess is John's gastank has
developed a pinhole leak and the leaking gas is dissolving the undercoating
on the tank as it leaks out. The "hardened mass" is resolidified
undercoating.

Dear Fellow FWDLKR''s

                                    I notice this morning a
small black hardened mass in the garage floor.
Looking underneath my Belvedere, I can see black staining
on the fuel tank driver's side. I suspect that
my vent tube melted after adding Sta-bil fuel
stabilizer for the Winter. Sound plausible?
Any other ideas and how do I repair it, if at all?

Thank you.
