Re: [FWDLK] Richard Carpenter's 1959 Sport Fury

Maybe this should be forwarded to the guy selling the car so that he can amend his description.

In answer to all the speculation on the '59 Sport Fury convert.  Richard will be 55 in October.  Neither he nor his father was the original owner of the car.  He bought it about '80 and I think it came from Tennessee.  It was restored "ecconomically" by '83  Was a body off frame, but had rust in all the normal places in fenders, quarters, etc. and I do mean all of them. "Ecconomical" way at the time was to fiberglass all these areas-cloth and resin. All the body work has held up real well, but it has just sat in a warehouse all these years.  It's a real nice looking and running car and is a genuine Sport Fury.  Worth the opening bid?  Probably.  Worth lots more.  Probably not.
