George - On page 405 of the 57-58 Plymouth Service Manual it shows how to
adjust the outside front door handles. You have to get the door open though
to get at the adjusting bolt which is covered by a rubber cover. I would try
this first.  When I bought one of my 59's I had to push inside handle
forward (lock position) on both doors before they would stay shut.  Seller
stated this was normal on these cars. (He bought it and only drove it a few
times before storing it).  He said his wife nearly fell out of car one time
while turning corner. (maybe good  - maybe bad) [just kidding] Anyway, after
playing with the adjusting nut/bolt the doors now work perfectly.  So try
