[FWDLK] Exhaust Manifold

I was installing an exhaust manifold onto a 383 V8 and noticed there
was no gasket between the cylinder head and the manifold when I had
removed the old manifold. Is this correct?  Any info greatly
appreciated.   Nick Nichols
