go to www.forwardlook.net, click on the For Sale
section, scroll down to "59 headliner bars", but make sure they are the correct
length. The ad says for wagons or hardtops...the hardtops use longer retaining
strips

Subject: [FWDLK] Plymouth Headliner
Hello All;
Has
anyone on this list been able to find anyone on this entire planet of
ours that has or makes the plastic strips that hold up the cardboard
headliner in the 58 Plymouths? I remember some people were looking into
the cost of recreating them; however, I assume it was too expensive, as
they were trying to make them "original" looking. At this point, I could
care less if they were pink with green stripes, just as long as they
hold the headliner up. I hate to resort to using duct tape, but all the
foam is falling down now and the car looks terrible! I have had varying
opinions that the strips from a Caravan, a late 70's Dodge van, early
wagons and other makes have the strips that will fit; however, I guess I
have not found the right model. I am curious to know when a person
advertises a "restored" 58, just how in the world! they are getting
around this mysterious headliner thing? Does anyone have any for sale?
Thoughts??????
