Why?

Those of us who grew up with disc brakes demand them, just like we demand radial tires.  Things improve over time.  I can have a 1800's doctor remove my appendix with a pocketknife, or I can go to a hospital today and have the whole thing done with small incisions using a scope.  Guess which I'd choose.  =)

I for one got tired of having my car roll through stop signs because the brakes "faded" in my very hilly area of Pittsburgh.  Now the car stops in half the distance it did previously, and can do so repeatedly.  Purists will say that's because my brakes weren't adjusted right, but none of those same purists could ever adjust them any better than my attempts.

Nothing to do with political correctness; it's just modern technology.  When things get better, they get better.  Simple as that.  =)

Hi list,

I hear so many people talking about how they must convert over to disc brakes on a car that did not have them originally. WHY? From 56 until disc brakes came out these car were raced and driven at high speed and we had no problem other than a little brake fade.
