The metal fabricator that did mine said to use seam sealer. If you get somting that is fairly viscous you should be able to lay a bead down the track and have it settle in nice and flat. I am going to carve out as much of the old stuff as possible, but my whole car is bare metal already. After spending hour after hour scraping undercoating this will be easy.
