People believe what they want to. Usually poor memories of things which
were of no importance to them at the time.
But just as bad, this crops up in other ways. When I was a "Master Auto
Tech" (industry title, not mine), we would get a car in on the hook.
Then the customers would come in and argue with me about what was wrong
with their car. I'd tell them what it needed, and I was wrong, because
"the Tow Truck Driver said...." My reply was "If he's so smart, why is
he laying on his back in the rain and snow hooking up chains to your
car for $7.00 an hour?"
Ya can't win.... when you argue with an idiot, you bring yourself down
to their level.

Everyone
?
You have to remember that Plymouth sold over 750,000 cars in 1957 and
about 450,000-500,000 (a recession year?that I didn't know about) in
1958.? So well over a million cars were sold.? A lot of people aren't
car nuts like us.? They don't know the difference between a Plymouth
and a Chrysler, no less the different Plymouth models and their
engines.? People tell me the Fury?318cid engine in my car is a 392
Hemi all the time.? I also get it's suped up because of the 2x4 bbl
carburation.? Tell them it's stock from the factory and they tell ME
I'm nuts.? And where did I get the fancy air cleaners.? So I just let
them talk and don't say anything.? It's not worth getting upset over.
