To get that effect, try putting some of the correct color in the
spray-gun cup 1/2 full of water. It will come out in drops and strings
and the water runs off leaving the color "bumps" Play with the pattern
adjustments and you might get the pattern the way you need. Then
re-spray the color over it for the bumps to be "in" the paint.
They used to paint trunks this way. Color first and then usually White
or Grey in the water. This gave it the "speckled look.

Subject: [FWDLK] Dashboard Paint
I have another question about the '57 Belvedere dashboard.? What kind
of paint did they use to get the textured dashboard?? I'm at that
stage also.? Please let me know as they're supposed to do the dash in
the next few days.? Thanks all.

AS I RECALL, They had a finish referred to as "Pebbled", which was a
satin surface with little random bumps in it.? They were "In" the
surface rather than "On" it.? It looked as if it were sprayed with
paint that had lumps in it.? I imagine it could have even been?put on
with two coats.? Confused enough?
