Re: [FWDLK] '57 Plymouth Waking from Time Capsule - The Car Connection > There was a second identical car that was just given away during the 1957 Tulsarama event. The winner bragged about how he quickly traded it in on a new Ford. Look closely. The second car is a 2 door sedan ! I had a great time at this event. Even the weather co-operated, more or less. How many 56-8 Furys ? I must've lost count. Neat to see 'one-of-none' 56, 57 and 58 Fury convertibles. Definitely more Furys than had ever gathered in one place at the same time. Things went relatively smoothly despite Boyd's desecration of the Belvedere Friday nite. It was great to touch bases with folks I haven't seen in almost a decade. And to meet people that I've only seen on the list. This event will do a lot for our FL cars. When was the last time a 57 Plymouth was national news ? It was nice to see so many finned cars at the show on Saturday. For once, F*rds and Ch**ys took a back seat to our cars. I didn't feel 'gouged' by the town at all, which is the way I sometimes fee at other car events (Carlisle, for example). Prices on food, events (3.50 to get into the Sock Hop(!)) were reasonable. Fees for attending the car show was waived after they got funding. Flying back tomorrow. Good news is, Carlisle is right around the corner !
