I'm lucky as I have a local autoparts store that still has books.
But on a funny note, I needed a new driver seat cushion for my 2004 Ram.
The guy is punching through the computer asking me questions, like power seat,
leather, 60/40 seat...etc...Then he asks me, does the truck have power windows ?
I started laughing, I just thought he was busting my chops. Then he was serious.
I said to him, what the hell does power windows have to do with a seat. he
didn't know but that's what the computer was asking him.
Anyway I did wind up getting the correct cushion.
and they also can't look up anything older than like 1980. I tried to get
them to look up brake cables for my 77 Volare.

Subject: [FWDLK] Parts Idiots...
Me: "I need a voltage regulator for my 1955 Chrysler."
Counter Idiot (Punching on computer keyboard): "Chryslers weren't made in
1955."
Me: "So what is that car that I am driving? It's right there in front of
the store. Take a look."
Idiot: "I have no idea what that car is, but it can't be a Chrysler. You
must be confused."
Me: "Is there someone here who is at least 50 years old?"
If you see someone behind the counter younger than 40, start looking for
another clerk/store.
