Roger,
1. “stamped on
the outside of the frame, left rear frame hump, behind the tire”
In this
location there are 2 numbers. On my 56 Dodge CRL 2 dr ht, there is “LD63L”, and
the engine S/N. The “LD63L” is only a part number code for the frame. The D63
stands for 56 Dodge. My guess is one of the “L”s means the frame is left hand
drive. The other “L” may stand for the frame modifications combination (6 cyl,
V8, manual trans, PowerFlite, wagon, convert) for my model. The engine S/N is
simply added when the engine is installed. The LD63L number is stamped very
deep and visible. The engine S/N is stamped very faint, mostly in the paint.
Remove the paint and it will be gone.
2. I’ve never
seen the top of right front frame horn, so I don’t know what’s there.

Thanx
guys for your response. Here's what I have so far for the 1955-56
vintage:
[1] stamped on the outside of the frame, left rear frame
hump, behind the tire. The frame number is the same as the engine
number.
[2] top of
right front frame horn.
