Well, I'm both a certified baby boomer and an ol' fart.
Go figure. I'm partial to the hardtops and converts, but when the top goes
down the price goes up.
Myself, I like the four door hardtop styling of '57-'58 [and
maybe '59] and the '60-'61 better than the two door hardtop styling.

4 door sedan over $32K
I hope I didn't sound too serious. I only meant to make a humorous jab.
If given the choice with the same price I would take the two door as well.
Even with the kids!

Larry, what I meant was, that to us that coveted these cars when they were
new, the 4 door was of no interest. Folks like you who have a need for a 4
door are happy wth them. They all have style, that's why we love them, but
the coupes and 'verts are of more interest to us who were just starting to
drive when they were new. And no kid in those days wanted a 4 door. Altho,
now, I'd love a 4 door hardtop (only) '61 Chrysler Station
Wagon!
These things run in generations, seen any Model A's lately?
Many owners/collectors are to old to drive them now, and they're hard to
sell.
To each his own, and enjoy them all; Ray

Don't care about style? Are you saying a '56 DeSoto lacks
style because it has four doors? I have kids and I prefer four doors and
to me they're cooler than 2 doors because they haven't been over priced by
old farts like you. LOL. To each his own.
I hope there wasn't a shill bidder, it saddens me
when people can't play nice. I called a friend/client on it when I learned
that he had a friend put in a "starter bid". I lost a little respect for
him that day. Don't know if it'll change his ways, I doubt I'm that
influential but maybe...

<hurst300@xxxxxxxxxx> It's worth what it brings. It sounds
like he has a shill bidder, and at some point they'll not bid and the
winner was bid way up. If the last shill bid doesn't get -bid, they can
offer it to the next (legitimate) bidder, as a second offer
opportunity. I think the problem is that some of these boomers grew
up with not much interest about cars, and now buy "an old car" just to
enjoy. Us old farts grew up wanting and driving only coupe and 'verts,
wouldn't be caught dead in a "all door". So they have the most value,
and the also-rans are bringing more money due to the buyers not caring
about style and the lack of reasonable coupes and 'verts. Ray in

So
if this high bidder is a scam, and this car makes it's third
appearance on eBay then what do you guys think a car like this is
worth?
The
collector car price guide shows a #2 car @ $11,900 and a #1 car @
$17,000.00 this car is very nice but not a true #1 car, maybe 13 years
ago but not now...
