We have a '55 New Yorker sedan - not nearly this nice, but it could be a 
driver with a little work - mostly going through because it's been stored a 
few years, plus for some reason the door panels are off, it probably has 
power window issues of some sort - and it needs paint pretty badly. 
Running 331 Hemi in it and I've run it on eBay maybe half a dozen times and 
can't hardly get a bid on it - or I get two or three a-holes telling me to 
scrap it, or that it's only good for parts (even though they've never seen 
the car in person and I have?).  This isn't a piece of junk, hell it still 
has plates on it from being on the road in 2000 or so.  The only reason I 
wouldn't drive it down the road right now (besides all the snow we just got) 
is the rubber in the brake hoses and so forth has likely deteriorated enough 
to be too risky to chance traffic with.  It has a touch of rust the size of 
a silver dollar on each quarter, and that's it, it was a western car until 
the mid-90s.  It's never going to be a high end class winning show car, but 
it certainly would be a nice, comfortable driver to enjoy.

The last couple times I ran it, similar cars were selling in the $3000 
range, but got no bids at all.  Maybe I should list it again, compared to 
that DeSoto it's a bargain.  If every 4-door was this easy to sell, our car 
should have sold for $5000 or so by now - without even advertising it.

Now a DeSoto 4dr, nice or not, I would have figured having a hard time 
clearing $10,000 with, unless it looks like it just rolled out of the 
showroom and you could eat off the engine and underframe.  Normally sedans 
just aren't hot sellers.  Go figure -
