The main advantage, for Me is parts availability. If it craps out on a
trip, in a strange town, components are readily available at most any
parts store. Pertronix units aren't stocked just anywhere. I don't mind
using modern ignition components, I don't mind using alternators and
aluminum torqueflites either, I just don't open the hood where it will
get Me in trouble.
