[FWDLK] temperature sensor help

I replaced the temperature sensor on my '55 Ply because the meter was giving erratic readings. But it still does the same thing.  Sometimes there's no reading at all with the engine on or completely hot when the engine was cold and sometimes the meter works. As result of this, I also changed the sensor wire to the meter and eventually swaped meters with the same results.

 

I wonder if anyone outhere had a similar problem.
