Re: [FWDLK] 55 plymouth brakes

I think you have two [or more] problems. The other guys have addressed the soft pedal. Another problem is the pulling to the right. Could be a shoe dragging, alignment problem, bent linkage, etc.

Subject: [FWDLK] 55 plymouth brakes

After 23 years, I am finally asking this question:

Ever since I bought my 55 Ply Belvedere 6cy auto, I've had brake issue problems. No matter how many times I bleed the brake lines, master cyl. etc., the pedal always goes soft after the car sits idle for a few days. I have to remind myself to pump the pedal a few times every so often or I end up purging the brake lines. Also, there's always a tendency for the car to to steer to the right and it's usually the first cylinder to start leaking fluid--Throughout the years, I replaced the brakes shoes, cylinders, etc., and it's the same.
To bleed the system I use the jar and hose method-
Is this a common problem with these cars? Anybody has the same problem? Suggestions?

Thanks

Jesus
