Re: [FWDLK] THIS 57 PLYMOUTH

My parents owned a 57 Custom Suburban and it had just the one piece of chrome going the length of the car. As you mentioned, the Sport Suburban had the Sportone with the two pieces of chrome going the length of the car. My Deluxe Suburban two door wagon had no chrome at all, but in those days you probably could have special ordered some trim, although I happened to like mine plain. That looks like Plaza trim on the two door wagon in the brochure picture. Wasn't the Plaza a fancier model than the Savoy, or the other way around? I had a 57 Savoy four door hardtop that was highly optioned and I recall it having the Plaza trim, too. I need to dig out some of my old pictures.

Correct but the 57 Belvederes had the same style trim without the up-kick at the rear and without the anodized inserts, having contrasting paint instead. And I believe the Sports Suburban also had that trim while the car in the photo has trim from the Plaza.

The price guide combined the models years 1957 and 1958, but it did break down the prices into models.

4 door Custom with pricing at $1480, 4440, 7400, 16,650, 25,900 and 37.000.
2 door Custom at $1500, 4500, 7500, 16,880, 26,250, 37,500

No mention of the 2 door Deluxe Suburban (plain Jane entry level)

I don't recall any of the 57s having the upswept trim other than the Furys.

At the risk of sounding nit-picky, that looks like a Custom Suburban, since Sport Suburbans had the body-length "dart", similar to what the Sport Belvies and Furys had.

I don't suppose the Price Guide provides that level of discernment?

According to the 2014 Collector Car Price Guide:

#6 condition   $1680
#5                    5040
#4                    8400
#3                    18,900
#2                    29,400
#1                    42,000

Highly optimistic?

Folks, a friend of mine is looking at this 57 Sport Suburban? (hoping the picture came across)  Has sat for a couple years, needs carb (and probably tank) cleaned as well, of course not running.  Supposedly "restored" 10+ years ago. Probably longer really. Interior is "decent" (which makes me wonder about the quality of resto). What is a good price for this 57?
