Re: [FWDLK] 1960 DeSoto parts needed

I would use Moparmall as a last resort. Their prices are always outrageous. Have you tried RockAuto for the KYB shocks ?

I don't know about the numbers you list, but Moparmall has shocks listed. I bought them for my 60 DeSoto from them. They also have a lot of parts for our Mopars there.

U-joints would be the same as C bodies. Since the 60 DeSoto is the same body and mechanicals as the 60 Chrysler, you can find parts by going looking for 60 Chrysler. A lot of people in parts stores don't even know what a DeSoto is, LOL.

Again, pinion seal would be the same as Chrysler.

You would greatly benefit by joining the National DeSoto Club and being able to network with DeSoto owners worldwide. Check out our website at www.desoto.org        There is a link there also for doing online.

Hi, guys

I’m searching for a few replacement parts for my 60 DeSoto Adventurer.

The more the years go by, the less often parts show up in inventories for Forward Look cars.

My gut says the parts are there, but they’re improperly falling through the cracks as digital inventory systems get updated.

My local NAPA, which is usually pretty good, comes up empty. Rock Auto shows pitifully little for 1960 DeSoto.

1) Front shock absorbers.  A mix of online searches produced the following possibilities:

KYB KG4507

Gabriel 820211.61 x 7.75  (extended x compressed)

Gabriel 99254MJ

Gabriel 41821QV

Are any of these correct, or is there a known proper replacement?

2) Differential pinion seal

3) U-joint - should be the same for a host of C-bodies, yes?

Thank you for any help you can provide.
