Doug W. advised by phone that the Eastwood product was 10280-Z Clear Zinc Aerosol. He asked that I forward this info. At $10.95 for 12 oz, it is $116.80/gallon. Eastwood also recommends this for : disc brake dust shields, coil brackets, pulleys, alternator fans, vacuum advance canisters, relays, hose clamps and misc. brackets. See: http://www.eastwoodco.com/shopping/product/detailmain.jsp?itemType=PRODUCT&RS=1&itemID=565&keyword=10280+z Others recommended soaking ashtrays in Coke, running them through a dishwasher cycle or having a plater apply a fresh zinc coating. I had used CLR, an acid-based cleaning product, along with scrubbing with ScotchBrite pads. Got the gunk off, but not very pretty to behold. Shooting it with a properly-toned paint should help. I don't know what is used to remove cigarette tar from lung or throat and sinus tissue. Maybe Coke works. One of my employees got a mouthful of industrial detergent while syphoning it from a barrel. Due to his two pack of unfiltered Camels per day habit, he escaped with only minor damage as his mouth and throat were apparently internally coated with tar. Like Lt. Colombo, I have one more question: How can the reflectors inside the taillights of a 1955 C300 be restored? They appear to be silver or nickel plated and much of mine has been turned black, possibly due to ingesting sulfur-bearing dust while the car lived in the mining area of Colorado most of its life. Thanks to Doug and to all who responded. MoP'ar to ya from Rich Barber Brentwood, CA C-300 Doug Warrener wrote: >Mark, Try www.eastwoodco.com . If I was at home, I could give you the >product name.
