Dave Schwandt Here, One of the reasons for the part # variation on A/C cars was a change in the location of the ports for the low pressure return oil line fitting from the valve and the air duct operating cylinder from the fill pipe (like on my 57 w/ac vin 2416) to the lower left side of the left valve cover on my D (vin 1662) By the way, Crazy Wayne, another D with A/C showed up at the fall meet sporting the "Schwandt Wire" in its A/C compressor harness! Greg, did we ever figure out what it's for ?? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Wayne Graefen" <WGraefen@xxxx> To: "Intl Club 300" <Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, January 24, 2002 9:11 PM Subject: Another 300C restoration detail poll: Left Valve Cover > Okay, my friends, I have been put onto another restoration distinction that > has to be sorted out, thanks to the sharp eyes of Marv Raguse, the owner of > what was once my Gauguin C hardtop. > > The latest point up for discussion is the probability that from 1957 to 1958 > there was a change in the positioning of the spot-welded coil bracket base > on the left side valve cover of the 300 C and D motors. > > The current assumption is this: > If you have a 300C or D up through VIN #1585, the bracket is positioned > above the letter "E" in the "FIREPOWER" script.
