I'm in the middle of one of these scams---mine is from a (mythical) car dealer by the name of George Williams in Africa who issued a purchase order for our 64 Imperial which is listed on Nancy's site. First clue was when he wrote with an offer on the car without ever asking any questions about it. We had forgotten the ad was there even and not really interested in selling the car anyway now but what the heck. We decided to go along with it and see what happens. It was the same situation that the dealer had a customer in the states who would send money in excess of the price of the 64 and we are to send the difference on so he can arrange for shipping. Last Thursday we got a Cashiers check from Bank of America supposedly from a person in Pa. Interestingly the Fed Ex package came from Puerto Rico though with the PA address all over it. Anyway talked to CEO of my bank and took it in to him on Friday. He swears the check is legitimate and was in fact willing to bet me on it. Wasn't willing to take his money though. Anyway we are waiting to see what happens as the check is processed. Will be amazed to find it to be real. Meanwhile told the individual that the bank has put a 30 day hold on it and he is now trying to get me to send the difference anyway. Lots of luck to him!!! ----- Original Message ----- From: "John Hertog" <crossram@xxxx> To: "Chrysler 300 Club Listverver" <Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, November 15, 2002 3:56 AM Subject: [Chrysler300] car scam alert > Hi to all, > > Nancy Kramer has passed on the following scam alert.
