Even though this is not your problem, I always use a high flow thermostat. Mopar dealers have them for motor homes. Several parts houses sell them. The ones I bought were made by Robert-Shaw . 3 cores were used by the tens of thousands for many years with no problem except in extreme conditions Did you have your radiator cleaned out? If not that very well could be your problem.
