Re: [Chrysler300] Hood Pad 300 G

Did any build sheet for a B ever show wire wheels?

I would assume that the repro hubcaps would suffer a demerit in judging,
would this be correct? A mere tap of the fingernail on a hubcap will tell
the difference from the real ones, or at least for the repros that I have
seen.

Would a car painted with other then the original enamels of the 50's suffer
a point loss in judging or are waivers given for lacquers or current
polyurethane's?

I believe my questions revolve around just how severe the judging of
Chrysler 300's be compared to "factory" build sheets. In the Corvette world
they are so anal that if you do not have the proper AC spark plug or your
finish is to nice, or no overspray on the exhaust manifold then you lose
points.

Wire wheels on 56 Chryslers were Chrysler wheels, installed as a dealer
installed option and were extremely common. Any half way sharp judge at a
300 concour could find enough wrong with most 900 point or better cars as
far as absolute factory correctness to turn them into 7 to 800 point cars.
Tires, seat belts, brake shoes, paints, fan belts, batteries, windshields
and glass, upholstery materials, refinished steering wheels, ANY repro part
etc etc.

Corvette organizations can do this because their are hundreds of thousands
of Corvettes and finding distinctions among them is tough in judging. I do
not believe that 300's have that luxury or need.
