[Chrysler300] Old Carbs

Hi, I'm sick and tired of working on the 41 year
old carbs on my 1964 300K crossram, and was wondering
if anyone has swapped new Edelbrock (AFB) carbs for the
stock ones. It looks like the EDL 1404 500 cfm, manual
choke would be the carbs.
What I would like to know from anyone that has done the
swap is did they have any problems adapting the linkage
to the new carbs?
I understand that many of the group members belive that
the cars have to stay original, but because of these carbs
I'm going to miss the spring meet this year. To have the
stock carbs rebuild by a Pro carb shop would cost almost
$600.00 the Edelbrock's are a little over $400.00 for brand
new.
 Thank you,
    Ray
