Early days the Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz (sp?) with the tri-power set. Oldsmobiles with J-2 and later with "Starfuel" turbochargers. Pontiac Venturas with Tri-power (Bonnevilles were too heavy!). Packard V-8s with dual Quads. Studebakers with blowers and in early 60's Larks with Avanti R-2 and R-3. I don't count the Chevies, as they were out of the price range. Remember, Chrysler 300 letter cars were (at least in 55 to 57 range) TWICE the cost of a base fuelie Vette and THREE times the cost of a base Thunderbird. Vettes and Thunderbirds, however, were not six passenger cars in Luxury class that 300's were. As stock, off the dealer floor cars, I don't think there was ANYTHING in drag racing that beat the 300's in NHRA sanctioned classes. Especially if the 300 had the stump-puller 6.13 rear end!!! L.
