[Chrysler300] '62 300 AC Switch

My latest findings:
Just put in a brand new switch and have made sure all 7 vacuum hoses are going where they shouild be.

I know the blue wire goes to the top/center connector (one closest to the vacuum hoses. I believe the connector below it, in the center stays empty. That leaves the following wires for the "U" shaped connectors:
Black with white tracer
Green
Brown with Blue

A test light shows power to the green wire with the ignition switch on, but no power at black wire. I thought the power was provided by the black wire? Also I can get all fan speeds in the two AC positions (buttons depressed), but no fans when I push heat or defrost.

Very confused.
Please help.
