[Chrysler300] Electronic Ignition Upgrades B/RB engines

I have installed the Mopar Performance EI system on 4 BB Mopars in the past
without any problems and was planning on upgrading my 65 300 with the same
kit. The drawback, of course, is that the orange box and extra wiring are
quite conspicuous and the price is much higher than the Pertronix system
that installs inside the distributor, under the cap.
I've noticed several members mentioning having the Pertronix ignition and
wondered if the results are the same as replacing the breaker point ignition
with the complete MP kit or similar? Are there any drawbacks? Is the
reliability proven? Other than getting a brand new distributor, is there any
reason to spend the bucks on the MP kit? Any advice would be helpful.
