I think the definition of 'clone' needs to be examined, too. The 'cloned' 440 six pack and 426 Hemi 'Cuda and Challenger cars I have seen still retain their original 'N' code 383 VIN numbers. Those are clones. They no longer match the configuration that left the factory on the build date. What we are talking about here is an original car that needs extensive metal replacement due to rust or accident, and will also retain its original VIN, albeit one that matches the actual configuration of the finished product as it left the factory. There must be some difference between these two scenarios, isn't there? In order for the club to determine what the rules should be for cloned cars, perhaps we should first find out what constitutes illegal cloning. I suggest as a first step, the club invite the Michigan Attorney General's office to give their opinion after an examination of Mr. Burke's car. If it is deemed to be an illegal clone, case closed. If it is deemed to be a clone but not illegal as far as the AG's office is concerned, then the club must make some decisions and I feel we have the right people as officers and directors to make those decisions.
